Every teenager uses social networks such as Instagram, Twitter and more. But the Internet isn't just all nice and fun: there are a lot of things you have to keep in mind.
Be careful how much of your personal life you share. Posting naked pictures of yourself is never a good idea, since someone can screenshot and use them against you. Also be careful about sharing your location on social networks. If you share your location everyone can know where you are at any point.
What you say online will forever be saved on the internet. Everything you post, if it's a video, comment or picture, leaves a "digital footprint" that can't be easily erased. In the future, if you go on job interviews, the employers could look on your social network sites and find reasons not to hire you, like an illegal action.
You should also be careful about talking to people on the internet you don't know. Even though it can seem exciting to make a friend online, this person could be someone entirely different than you think. Do not share personal data like phone number or home address, since they could very easily use it against you.
